Beka looked into Gaheris eyes, in these past few months he had become much more than a comrade and friend. He had become her lover. Did she love him? She couldn't answer that question just yet.
"I'm sorry Gaheris I can't do this anymore."
She leaned forward and kissed him. He returned it with passion and finally Beka broke it, "Goodbye Gaharis Rhade." She turned and left the room without looking back.
As she walked down the hall toward the Eureka Maru she thought back to that first night where everything changed...
"I'm insane!"
Beka watched Rhade pace his quarters and wished she hadn't brought the news about the Magog.
"I was insane to think I could restore the CommonWealth. I helped to destroy it, I killed Dylan Hunt. I plunged the universe into darkness!"
Beka put her hands on his shoulders, "And you're attoning for your actions, you're a Neitzchean do you lie down and die?"
He clenched his fists, "No!"
He turned to her and she dropped her hands from his shoulders, the mounting tension over the past few months between them suddenly seemed to explode.
Gaheris brought his mouth down on hers and Beka felt like a million volts of electricity were going through her. Never had a kiss felt like this. He cupped her breasts through the cloth of her blouse.
He pulled his mouth away from hers to let her breathe, "Undress." He told her.
Beka put her hands on her hips, "What about you?"
"Ladies first." Beka quickly disrobed and he did the same. She gasped, Rhade was the most endowed male she'd ever seen. He backed them up the couch and they fell on it. Beka gasped as he flicked his tongue over her nipple and then took each of her breasts into his mouth.

breathing the only sound, and then Gaheris removed himself and got up. He
lifted her into his arms and then walked off toward the shower...

Beka returned to the present, how could she leave? Just because things had
piled inon her at once. Yes she loved him she knew that now.
She turned and went back, "I can't leave you Gaheris. I'm sorry for walking away."
He pulled her into his embrace, "Don't ever do that again."
The months passed and Harper's Magog infestion began to threaten him. Beka stared at Gaheris and the new golden Trance. "You can't leave!"
Gaheris smiled and kissed her, "Goodbye Beka we'll meet again." Then there was a flash of light."
In another universe Beka opened her eyes as her alarm went off, she rubbed her eyes.
"Beka are you all right?"
She looked at her lover lying next to her. He was her soulmate and match in every way.She kissed him.
"I'm fine Telemachus."
